Exciting new community exhibition opens in Letchworth

An exciting new community exhibition on local green spaces has opened in the Community Museum, The Arcade Letchworth.

The exhibits are designed to help people discover what is going on in parks and open spaces in Letchworth, get involved with volunteering, find out more about Forest School or learn a new skill.

They also cover a wide variety of themes surrounding Natural History, Social History, Future Plans, Conservation, Ecology, and Gardening.

The exhibition has been organised by, Tony Goodwin, secretary of Friends of Howard Park and Gardens, Arch Community Group, Friends of Norton Common, in partnership with North Hertfordshire District Council (NHDC) and the Letchworth Heritage Foundation. It is open from 10am to 4pm on Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays until the May 6.

Vaughan Watson, head of Leisure and Environmental Services, said: “We have some wonderful green open spaces in Letchworth and this community exhibition will help everyone to get the best from them. This is a fantastic community initiative and we would like to encourage everyone to go along and see how they can get involved”.

Tony Goodwin, said: “It has been a great experience co-ordinating the exhibition a lot of people have dedicated a lot of time to the project so far and we hope to be able to bring the people of Letchworth an exhibition they can be proud of”.
